Waterjet cutting uses a stream of water, pressurized between 40,000 ans 100,000 PSI, and forced through a .014″ diameter diamond orifice. The resulting jet is driven by a computer to precisely cut the desired geometry. Soft materials such as cork, rubber, foils, or cloth are cut using water only. Garnet abrasive is drawn into the stream of the orifice to cut harder materials. Some material, such as glass, diamonds and ceramics cannot be cut using the waterjet.
